Where to shop in Palm Springs

Palm Canyon Dr & Indian Canyon Dr

where to shop palm springs destination-psp-featuresIn Palm Springs the main shopping area is South Palm Canyon Drive, though the parallel-running Indian Canyon Drive is also quickly becoming a destination.

Whether you’re looking for a chic restaurant, a souvenir shop, or for some cool clothes or flip-flops to beat the desert heat, you’ll find what you’re looking for here.

Visit the Destination PSP store for cool collectibles like dishware, towels and linens, or their very funky mini midcentury modern tissue box covers.

Start your spree in the design district where you can have mid century furniture and designs shipped directly to your home. Head south, and stop for a cocktail at any one of several bars or restaurants along the way, like Eight4Nine, Dish, Trio or Copeley’s and then get back on the shopping track.

Shop for antiques

Find antique treasures near the intersection of Sunny Dunes Road and S. Palm Canyon Dr. There are several shops here including AAA Palm Stars, Antique Galleries of Palm Springs and Little Shop of Treasures.

Near Highway 111 and Cherokee Way there’s also a wealth of vintage shops you can check out. Wrap your hunt with a cocktail at the nearby Parker Hotel.

If you’re in town on the first Sunday of the month, be sure to make plans to see the Palm Springs Vintage Market. Running from 8am-2pm at the Camelot Theatres parking lot, the open air market is chock full of surprises from furniture to collectibles from a vast array of different sellers.

Shop in the Greater Palm Springs Area

Shop the Outlets

About 20 minutes west of Palm Springs is the Cabazon and Desert Hills Premium Outlets. From experience I can say that spending 4-6 hours here is not unreasonable! Pick a friend who’s as into shopping as you are and plan to spend at least half a day hopping from shop to shop. There’s a wealth of choice when it comes to the stores, and a whole section of premium luxury brands.

El Paseo in Palm Desert

About 20 minutes drive east from Palm Springs is Palm Desert. The city’s main drag is known as El Paseo and it features a bounty of restaurants and luxury retailers. You could say El Paseo is the Rodeo Drive of the Desert. This strip also has plenty of restaurants and places to grab a drink and some air conditioning if you’re weary.

Palm Springs and area is loaded with great shops, one of a kind stores and infinite places to hunt for vintage treasures.
