From the desert wildflowers that bloom to signal the start of the heat, to the shady green parks and cool blue pools, there’s lots to see in vibrant hues in Palm Springs this season.
There are plenty of places to get your toes wet and cool yourself off this season, so today the colour we’re focused on is the blue of several of the city’s best pools!
Best pools in Palm Springs: Saguaro Hotel
Why not work on your bronze at the Saguaro Hotel? This adult playground is known for its vibrantly colored architecture and it’s possibly one of the most Instagrammable spots in the entire Coachella valley.
In summer you can take advantage of off season rates and stay and play in style. Book a two night stay in one of the Saguaro guest rooms and get a daybed reservation for one day. Check the Saguaro hotel website here for more specials.
Best pools in Palm Springs: Hard Rock
Maybe you’re looking for more than lounging? Want to party like a rock star? There’s only one place to do it; the Hard Rock Hotel.
Located right in the centre of Palm Springs, this chic spot is its own party city. This summer the Hard Rock Hotel Palm Springs is also offering what it’s calling Cocktails and Cabanas. Here you can rent a daybed or a more private cabana and sign yourself up for some poolside pampering. With the option of private pool access and a personal server, you’ll definitely feel like royalty.
The Hard Rock Hotel also offers day passes for non-hotel guests in case you’re just looking to cool off for a few hours, or get your party on after a refreshing spa treatment at the hotel’s signature spa. (Tell them we told you to ask about the “California Dreamin” Watermelon Vodkatini Body Scrub.) More info on the package and options is available from the hotel’s website here.
Best pools in Palm Springs: Ace Hotel & Swim Club
Not to be outdone, the iconic Ace Hotel is also an azure playground. The hotel often puts on “dayclubbing” events at its fabulously edgy pool where themed soundtracks spun by world-class DJs will keep you hopping to the beat, and hopping into the pool to cool off between sets.
Check out more of Ace Hotel’s special events here.
Best pools in Palm Springs: Palm Springs Swim Center
There are also some pretty chill places to take the kids too. The Palm Springs Swim Center located at 405 S. Sunrise Park Pavilion will cool off the entire family in its Olympic-sized blue lagoon. It’s open to the public not just in summer but year-round.
Best pools in Palm Springs: Wet n Wild (Closed, but maybe re-opening?)
*Note: Wet n Wild closed during the pandemic, but there’s chatter it may re-open sometime in 2022*
Maybe you’d rather tucker the kids out by sending them climbing up to the top of several waterslides? Wet n Wild Palm Springs is sure to keep them revved up for the day before they collapse into happy heaps by bedtime.
Mom and dad can relax in one of the facility’s cabanas while the kids clamber around among the splash pool, tube slides, wave rider, or the 7-storey tall Tidal Wave Tower.
Special family passes and Tickets are usually available. Hit up their website for more details.
This summer, blue is the colour of fun, and the way to keep your cool. Get out to one of the city’s fabulous and fun pools and enjoy just one of the Colors of Summer this season.
