From the sun to the scenery, and great places to stay, dine and be entertained, Palm Springs is a perfect destination for a girls’ weekend away. It’s easy to get to; a short flight from many locations or a quick drive from San Diego, or Los Angeles, but it can feel like a world away.

Girls Weekend Palm Springs

Girls Weekend – Relax

If chilling out is what you’re after, it’s easy to do at any of the fancy spas in Palm Springs. From the quirky PSYC (Palm Springs Yacht Club) spa at the Parker Hotel, to the luxe Canyon Spa at the Palm Canyon Resort, there are any number of places that can pamper you in style. Sit back, sip a drink (or enjoy your complimentary shot from the PSYC as you check in!) and put your feet up and catch up on what’s new with your besties.

Girls Weekend – Golf

Palm Springs is known the world over for its golf. There are several public golf courses where you can play a ladies foursome or even do Nine and Dine in a couple of groups, like Escena in north Palm Springs, which is ranked the sixth best public course in California by The course has wide open spaces and a forgiving layout, but is also dotted with gorgeous native plants and palms. Another course to try is Desert Willow, where beautiful green spaces and grasses, trickling water and stunning views are all part of the experience.

Girls Weekend – Hike

Get outdoors and enjoy the beautiful desert breezes. A great way to get a bird’s eye view of the Coachella Valley is to get up high. Combine a dazzling tram ride at the Palm Spring Aerial Tramway, with a mountaintop hike. The rotating cable car lifts you up two and a half miles of rocky terrain to a lush green wilderness. A network of hiking trails weaves its way across the top and boasts panoramic views and a stunning change from the desert scenery. It’s a wonderful way to get some exercise and do some bonding. Remember to bring warm clothes as due to its height, Mount San Jacinto experiences winter-like conditions at the top.

Girls Weekend – Dine

Whether you crave delicious spicy-sweet Thai food at Thai Smile, experimental cuisine from the likes of Dish, or traditional Mexican fare from the historic Las Cazuelas, you can find any meal you and your girlfriends are feeling like in Palm Springs. While there are too many great recommendations to list here, the three I just mentioned are all personal favourites, and cover a diverse array of tastes.
